The Wonderful World we live in
We went for the theme ‘Gods Good Earth’ because we wanted to show the earth that people think of as created is a wonderful place where we’re always learning about new things we didn’t know about before. The reason we went for the British countryside was because it’s where we live and we see all of these things when we go outside to experience nature and all the animals that live there.
We chose the title ‘The Wonderful Would We Live In’ because the world around us is a wonderful place and we should treat it with more respect than what we do now. We should also spend more time out in nature because it helps with our emotions and it calms us down, so a walk through the woods would be good for you. This links in with God and Christianity because Christians and other religious people believe that God made the world with everything in it for us to love and care for as much as he does.
Our inspiration came from nature, more specifically the British countryside because there’s such a wide range of plants and animals to experience and to enjoy. What we like best about our work is that it all fits in with the scene we’ve captured here and that all of the smaller insects and mammals (like the moth and the hedgehog) are nearer the back of the piece. We hope that people will notice the bird up in the tree nearer the back of the page because it’s not really near the other animals as it’s an animal that is usually easy to scare and is scared of other animals in the picture.
This artwork is spiritual because you can forget about your problems when you’re immersed in nature and you can enjoy your time in nature because it might not be around in the future of our world. This work has helped us to realise that nature is more important than what we think it is and that spending more time outside will help us. Our vision is that people will spend more time outside and care for the world that God has created for us to care and love for him. A quote from the bible that fits with our work is ‘He has Made Everything Beautiful in It’s Time’.
