Teacher Engagement Opportunity: Draft RE & National Curriculum
Opportunity for teacher engagement with the draft programmes of study for Religious Education and the National Curriculum.
Dr Vanessa Ogden CBE alongside the programmes of study drafters is pleased to welcome applications for a face to face meeting to discuss the draft programmes of study linked to the recommendation from the Curriculum and Assessment Review for Religious Education to enter the National Curriculum.
There will be two face to face meetings for serving teachers of RE (by this we mean teachers who have a regular timetabled commitment to the same class). Teachers may engage with this work on Friday 6th March OR Saturday 7th March 2026. The venue will be in central London and the Task and Finish Group are able to cover reasonable travel expenses but not supply cover. Please be aware that there are a limited number of places and that these will be allocated to gain a good cross sector representation of phase, region and school type as well as a mix of schools with and without religious character.
Please use the form below to express your interest to be a part of this important work.
With thanks for your continued engagement in this work.
Katie Freeman, Chair of NATRE
Application closes Wednesday 18th February at 17:00
The short window for applications is to ensure that the team can review applicants and give successful teachers a good amount of time to book travel and supply cover.
We have had an overwhelming response to this engagement already, but want to ensure that we reach the largest number of teachers possible. For this reason, if you receive this email on Monday 23rd February (on your return to work), please do contact us via email on this day and we will do our best to accommodate your requests.
