Exploring Hindu Worldviews
This volume provides knowledge-rich substantive content about Hindu weddings, festivals such as Holi, Raksha Bandhan and Ganesha Charturthi, Ganesha Murtis, inspirational figures and the understanding and impact of the concept of ahimsa.
Younger pupils can explore Holi and Raksha Bandhan actively through photographs and stories. Marriage is a significant rite of passage and images from ‘Auntie Anita’s’ wedding make an excellent photo album, available to members as an ebook with flippable pages. The importance of Ganesha to Hindu devotees is investigated through stories and a festival. Inspiring figures Jalaram Bapa and his wife Virbai, are shared, with an example of a mandir that honours this guru. Finally the key concept of ahimsa is unpacked through philosophy, thoughts of young Hindus, and two charity case studies.
