The World is Everything
Artist: Name: Reception Class – Whole Year Artwork Name: The World is Everything Numbers: 35:33-34 You shall not pollute the land in which you live... 34 You shall not defile the land in which you live, in the midst of which I dwell, for I the Lord dwell in the midst of the people of Israel. Reception discussed creation and the land that we live on. We spoke about things that harm our planet and read a story called ‘The life of a plastic bottle’. From the Elements- Left to the Elements
Artist: Name and School: Usk Church in Wales Primary Artwork Title: From the Elements- Left to the Elements Children from Reception all the way through to Year 6 collaborated on a Sculpture trail in our Forest School using only natural materials. We had discussions around Climate Change and asked questions such as 'Are we spoiling God's good earth? 'and 'What can we do to help our world?'. In each section of Sculpture trail there are quotes from the Bible, and prayers and messages about our world written by the children: 'We should help our animals', ' We all need to protect the environment, nature and others', 'Dear God, help us to look after your world, help us to keep our rubbish in the bin and not in the ocean. Amen.'. When creating our Sculpture trail we considered our senses of touch, sight and hearing the trail includes nature mandals, stone sculptures, nature chimes, pinecone sculptures and nature weaving. We wanted to ensure that the art we created could be left in situ and nature could reclaim our art, as the Bible said, 'You shall not pollute the land in which you live'.
