Christians Vol. 2
This is the second volume on Christians in the series. Both volumes provide resources for studying institutional and personal dimensions of Christian believing and living.
This book examines: teachings about the kingdom of God through the parables, perspectives of Christians for whom their faith is something upon which they lean – sometimes in the most dramatic and threatening of circumstances, and how faith contributes towards dreams of wholeness and helps people manage guilt. It also explores ‘ritual and community and … other stuff’, with sections on the typical routine of a Catholic parish priest and marriage. A ‘scholarly view’ considers arguments for the existence of God.
Authentic sources deepen students’ knowledge and understanding of Christians and Christianity, and give them opportunities to consider their own ways of thinking and living.
