All Places are sacred

By Parker, aged 12 from Kings Monkton School

Spirited Art competition – Parker Williams

My art work is called All places are sacred.
I created this piece to explore the these if safe spaces
The main idea behind my artwork is that all places people worship are equal and safe.
I was inspired by churches, love, piece and friendship.
This theme is important to me because because everyone should feel safe and everyones beliefs should be values.

In my artwork, you can see a stack of different churches or sacred places ontop of each other and lots of symbols.
The most important part of my piece is the door, this represents everyone is welcome inside my church.
I chose to include the door to show that everyone can come in side, everyone is equal and values.
The colours i used red and grey because these colour are church buiding soclours.
I used clay to make it becuses it was easie to mold.
The symbol of judaism, christianit and lots more are used.
You can see cross symbols on stanined glass windows.
I wanted the views to think about all the churches in different ryligens in the world.
The art work communicates the message that everyone is equal. You can be any size, colour, gender we are all equal.

While creating the artwork I learned lots of different relijuse symbols and the meaning of what a church is the people.

The most challenging part was the piller and roof to make the church stable for the people to enter. It kept snapping and i kept trying again.
If i could improve my art work I would add an inside.

My final message to the views is i really enjoy making the piece i feel we need to create more places like churches for people to feel safe and loved.
