Ayesha is a Muslim and she takes Qur’an/Arabic classes every week. She has quoted an extract from the Qur’an – written in Arabic on the bottom of her artwork. The translation is also in the artwork. This extract refers to the Ozone Layer (protective ceiling) and it’s one of the many extracts which refers to protection of the Earth. Ayesha has represented the protective ceiling/ozone layer as a canopy protecting the Earth from the harmful sun rays. Ayesha has used oil pastels and felt tips for boldness and vibrancy.
