Close up on God – Searching for God 

Our design is a literal interpretation on a very complex philosophical question. The idea of searching for God is something many people experience throughout their life and can be a challenging experience when God doesn’t appear where you first look. Many people search for God within physical figures in the world yet fail to realise that God can also present himself through us. The image depicts a person searching for God in a book made-up of torn political issues: people may struggle to find or accept God when there is bad in our world. The character’s inability to search within themself shows the struggle that people go through on their journey of finding God. Searching for God is relatable for everyone, religious or not. We think God loves us all unconditionally and is present in everyone whether we search for him or not, he’s always there within us and will support us on our journey no matter what. Whilst creating this piece, we realised that God presents himself differently to everyone who searches and cannot be defined or identified by one physical or emotional connection. This is what we decided to be the main message of our piece, that searching for God is an intense and personal journey and will not always have the same process and results as someone else. It is about your connection with God, and it cannot be formulated.
