A Teacher’s Advocacy Toolkit
About this resource
Religious Education (RE) is a statutory requirement in all state-funded schools in England. It develops pupils’ knowledge and understanding of both religious and non-religious worldviews. In addition, it fosters critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and cultural awareness, preparing students for life and work in a diverse society. This toolkit provides legal backing, key arguments, and advocacy strategies to defend RE’s place on the timetable.
