We chose the topic ‘Looking Beyond’ because we wanted to represent a view of the earth and nature in greater depth and not just how it seems. We wanted people to understand that the way God created the earth is perfect, but it is different in everyones eyes. Understanding that everyone has a different perspective of the wonders of the world means that we can all embrace our own individuality and others around us. It is amazing how we can all see one minor thing in many ways. Like how nobody sees a flower with the same colours, its all just variations of that colour. Sometimes we don’t see the beauty that is right in front of us – this is why we chose to do the quote ‘God is always trying to give things to us, but our hands are too full to receive them’ – St Augustine.
Our artwork links to this because we have described the many views and awes of the Earth and how if we don’t take time to stop and admire what God has given to us, we might miss it. This is why we chose to write about the many wonders of the world no matter how big or small.
